In addition to my partnership with Newburgh-on-Ythan Golf Club, I am now also teaching at Murcar Links Golf Club.
I am delighted to have an association with such a prestigious club. Ranked within the top 100 courses in Great Britain and Ireland, it is a fantastic club with a great history, hosting numerous championships, most recently co-hosting the 2018 Amateur Championship.
On a personal note, it is a place I’ve a fond family association with, with my grandfather, a stalwart Murcar member for over 50 years. In many ways it was where I learned and grew to love the game, during summer holidays with my grandparents in Aberdeen.
It is also a privilege to be working with fellow PGA members; long standing head professional, Gary Forbes, and Stephen Murray.
As a facility for learning golf it is first class, featuring a well-maintained grass hitting area, covered bays for rainy days, two good sized short game greens with bunkers and two putting greens.
In addition, there is a short par 3 course, which is perfect for kids and beginners. Moving up from there, Murcar’s 9-hole Strathbathie course is an excellent place to develop golfing skills, while the Championship course is a wonderful links test for even the very best players.
