‘Shallowing’, or flattening, the shaft plane in the downswing is an effect, caused by correct sequencing- ie the lower body leading the upper body.
It not something a golfer should be TRYING to do.
Forget ‘shallowing’, and instead FEEL the club stays UP and on plane in the transition into the downswing .
If you do, you’ll be able to deliver the club into the ball consistently, with a natural release, no manipulations required, and you’ll hit the ball straighter than ever.
